How to Generate Good Content for Your Reviews
I. How to Join
· IMPORTANT NOTE: By submitting your resume, it means agreement to the Terms of Use of the CebuWiseConsumer site and agreement to follow the guidelines outlined herein if your application is approved.
· To apply,
a. submit your resume to cebuwiseconsumer@gmail.com containing your email ad used in your paypal account. Use the Subject: APPLY [your name]. Go to www.paypal.com for instructions if you do not have a paypal account yet.
b. Register to www.cebuwiseconsumer.com using the same e-mail ad as that used for your paypal account.
· You can start submitting articles after receiving confirmation from CebuWiseConsumer. This confirmation is necessary because we still need to verify and review your resume.
· Submit articles to cebuwiseconsumer@gmail.com with the Subject: REVIEW:[title of your review]
II. Standard Review Structure
Note: “Product” refers to both Product and Service throughout this set of guidelines.
The CebuWiseConsumer Standard Review article contains the following basic elements. Note that we present here only guide questions to help you understand what the basic element should contain.
a. Feature Presentation
· At least 1 Photo of the Product is Highly Recommended!
· Present the complete product features
· If the identification of all features is hard, focus on the features that a consumer usually identifies as basis for decision making
b. Pros
· What do you or the consumers like about this product?
· What do you think makes this product better than a similar product?
c. Cons
· What do you or the consumers dislike about this product?
· What do you think makes this product worse than a similar product?
d. Recommendations
· To whom or which consumers do you recommend this product?
· What are the conditions or circumstances where this product should be used?
· What are the conditions or circumstances where this product should NOT be used?
· How should this product be used?
e. Invitation to Share a Comment
· What issues do you wish for readers of your article to discuss about? Issues may already be discussed in the other basic elements but summarized here.
· Invite readers or users of the product to share their thoughts about this product in a creative and engaging way.
f. Author’s Signature
· Name
· Occupation
We do not include any other personal information other than the name and occupation of the author to protect the author’s privacy. However, if you wish to verify the identity of the author, other personal information of the author may be given upon request with the author’s consent.
The Author’s signature signifies our proof that we publish only real reviews from real people.
III. Criteria for Rating
· Ability to Engage the Reader (50%)
o This is a very critical criterion because this determines the ability of your article to open and sustain a discussion via “article comments” in the CebuWiseConsumer community.
o Your First few lines or words should catch the reader’s attention.
o Your last few lines or words should trigger the reader to comment or engage in a community discussion.
· Content (40%)
o Brief but Concise. Note that online people do not have all the time in the world to read through your entire article. This means that the length of your article should be just enough to give substantial and useful information in just a few lines.
o Completeness, Accuracy and Good Emphasis of the Product Feature Presentation. Good Emphasis means a focus on the features that a consumer usually identifies as basis for decision making
o Objective and Substantial Pros and Cons identification and Comparison to other similar products or brands in the market
o Specificity and Substance of Recommendations. Generic recommendations are discouraged.
· Organization (10%)
o The CebuWiseConsumer Standard Review Structure is recommended, but any modifications are welcome to encourage creativity.
IV. Compensation Scheme
Compensation is based on the article’s rating:
· Below 50% – submitted review article is rejected and recommended for revision
· 50 – 60 % – 30 php
· 61 – 70 % – 60 php
· 71 – 80% – 80 php
· 81 – 90% – 100 php
· 91 – 96% – 120 php
· 97 – 100% – 200 php
For each article submitted, we will send a confirmation of approval or rejection and a summary of your account.
We send you payments via your paypal account for every 500 php earned. Please be aware that Paypal may charge certain fees for the transactions. Please go to www.paypal.com to learn more.
NOTE: For really excellent writers, we may request certain topics to be writtern at a price much higher than the upper limit of our standard compensation scheme.
V. How to Generate Good Content for Your Reviews
The basic answer is good research. Here are some suggestions:
· Avail the Product, Use it, Evaluate it
· Interview or talk to a User of the Product
· Search for information in the web or in print, analyze and consolidate the information into a coherent product review article
